The Blue Heron Farm and Retreat is excited to share our lovely landscape with you for your visit. Before booking your stay, check out our policies below.

For reservations made directly on our website or via phone, a one night deposit plus lodging tax is required to secure your reservation and will be charged to the Credit Card provided. If booking your reservation less than 14 days before your arrival, the entire reservation amount will be charged to your credit card.

The remainder of your balance is due at check-in and can be paid by credit card or cash. Your reservation is not confirmed until your deposit has been successfully processed. An automatic confirmation will be sent by our reservation system to the email you provide. 

Only two guests per bunkhouse and per tent per reservation.  Call us if you have a larger party size and we can try to accommodate your request for an additional fee per person. 

There are no children under the age of 18 allowed.  

All guest names must be listed on the reservation for your safety in the event of an emergency. No unregistered guests are allowed in the lodging area. 

Although we love animals, we cannot accommodate pets.

Our accommodations are powered by off grid solar so please do not bring box fans, coffee makers, hair dryers, etc.  We provide a fan in each cabin/tent and a hair dryer in each bathroom that are right sized to the system.

Check-ins are scheduled from 3 pm to 7 pm.  The absolute latest time we can accommodate check in is 9pm.  If you plan to arrive after that, please call before making your reservation to make sure we are able to check you in.

Check-out is anytime before 11 am.

If you need to leave before breakfast is served, please let us know before 6pm the night before and we will be happy to prepare a breakfast before you leave. 

privacy policy for credit card processing

We understand that plans can unexpectedly change.  Cancellations affect us greatly however, therefore you must agree to the following cancellation policy at the time of booking:

If your plans change after your reservation is confirmed and you booked directly through our website or via phone, cancellation notice is required 14 days prior to your arrival date. With this advance notice, we will refund your credit card deposit minus a $25 cancellation fee, per bunkhouse or tent reserved. The $25 cancellation fee also applies to changes to your arrival/departure date that result in a shorter stay.

Reservations canceled less than 14 days prior to your arrival date will be charged in full, unless your bunkhouse or retreat is re-booked by another party. We will make every effort to re-book and will refund any reservation we are able to re-book minus a $25 cancellation fee per  bunkhouse or tent reserved.

The Farm does not take responsibility for changes to your reservation due to inclement weather, unforeseen changes to travel plans, personal sickness or injury, or family emergencies.

No refunds are provided for late arrivals, early departures, no-shows, or weather-related cancellations.

Cancellations MUST be made by phone, not via email.

If you made your reservation through Airbnb, VRBO or GlampingHub, you are bound to the cancellation policies agreed to when booking on their website. The cancellation policies on their website may differ from our standard cancellation policies when booking directly with us.  Any reservation made on an external travel booking site must be canceled through their website.

Your nightly rate includes a full breakfast served each morning between 7am and 9am; use of the barn, canoes and kayaks, and recreational equipment; and free high-speed internet access. Browse our website for more information.

There is absolutely no cooking on site as we are not a campground.  We have lunch and dinner options available to purchase or we are happy to suggest restaurants in the area.

The Blue Heron Farm and Retreat is a NON-SMOKING, NO CHEW & NON-VAPING property. For the health and safety of our family and our guests, smoking, chewing and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the farm.  A minimum $250 cleaning fee is imposed for smoking or vaping inside the bunkhouses, bathrooms, tents or barn. The parking area is our designated outdoor smoking, chewing or vaping area.  Your complete cooperation is expected.

Any violation of these policies will result in the need to find other accommodations immediately. Refunds will not be considered.
